Woodlyn Baptist Church: MacDade Boulevard and School Lane will hold its Christmas Dessert Concert on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. All are invited to experience “Hope is Born, Emmanuel,” a multimedia musical performance that celebrates His coming and gives voice to our yearning for His promised return. A holiday dessert buffet will follow for all guests. All are welcome.

Night of Music at Upland Baptist Church: 325 Main St., Upland, will celebrate the Christmas season with The Night of Music! On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m., come together for a night of carols, bells and music. All are invited to enjoy this casual evening.

A HOME IS A RIGHT (AHARI): is sponsoring a veterans’ holiday festival at The Church of the Overcomer, 1010 Sunset St., Trainer, on Dec. 4 from noon to 2 p.m. There will be free giveaways and resources for veterans and anyone that attends AHARI strives to help at-risk and under-served veterans become self-sufficient. AHARI is committed to establishing collaborations with other nonprofit organizations with a similar passion that provide housing, programming, and auxiliary support services.

Immanuel Lutheran Church: 501 Chester Pike, Norwood, will hold its annual Christmas bazaar Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade Christmas cookies will be pre-packaged in small quantities, but still available to select favorites to purchase by the pound. Homemade baked goods and sweets will be available, too. Members have made a variety of fresh soups in Mason jars ready to eat or to refrigerate until ready. Stromboli, ready to heat, can be taken home. Lunch will be available for purchase on site. Handmade crafts are available for gift shopping. Plus, there’s a flea market table to pick up odds and ends, including some holiday decor. St. John’s Episcopal Church: 16 W. Third St., Essington, will be holding a Christmas bazaar on Dec. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. Crafts, food, cookie walk and more.  Come have some fun out with friends and family.

The Slavic Christmas/St. Nicholas luncheon: will be held Sunday, Dec. 4 at noon at Holy Myrrh-Bearers Ukrainian Catholic Church, 900 Fairview Road, Swarthmore. Enjoy traditional Slavic foods like pierogis, kielbasa and more. Children 10 and under are free. Please provide the name and age of the child for St. Nick’s visit. Older children are $10 and adults are $20. Advance ticket sales only. No tickets will be sold at the door and there will be no takeout. There will also be a St. Nick basket at the dinner for donations of new socks, gloves, hats, undergarments and thermals for the orphans in Ukraine. St. Gabriel Parish, Norwood: will host a holiday trip to the Christmas Show at The American Music Theatre in Lancaster, with dinner afterwards at Miller’s Smorgasbord, on Thursday, Dec. 15. Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church: 256 Bethel Road, Glen MIlls will continue the monthly “first fruits” collection the first Sunday of each month.

Fridays at 6 p.m.: at Norwood United Methodist Church is game night, hosted by the youth ministry. This event is for students in grades 5-12. We will have an NFL Madden, NBA 2K tournament, and a host of other games for students to play. Light refreshments will be provided. Holy Myrrh-Bearers 2022 pierogi sales: Pierogi sales are vital to our small parish. We appreciate your support and ask that you share our remaining sale dates with your friends and families. Evangelist Outreach in Chester: Are you an individual, group, church or organization that have a desire to share the gospel in our community with the opportunity to receive a $500 stipend. If so, email prayingfr[email protected] for more information and register to participate.

First United Methodist Church: 350 W. State St., Media, The church is home to the Media Food Bank which serves 75-100 families each week and is supported by individuals, area churches, and local businesses. The food bank is open Thursdays 7-8 p.m. and the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The church also serves the community through its clothing closet which is open Thursdays 7-8 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. The Transition Town Media Free Store is located at First United and serves as a place to donate used items and take (for free) items that can be used or repurposed. First Church offers free beginner yoga classes Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.

Middletown Presbyterian Church: 273 South Old Middletown Road, Media. Just GRIT, Fridays, 7-9 p.m., teen activities. Bible study with pizza. Adult Bible Study, Wednesdays, 9:30-11 a.m.

The Christian Church of Chester: 308 W. Third St., Chester cafe will be open on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. Enjoy a free hot meal. Zumba is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Come for the fellowship and get fit for free. The Healing Rooms of Delaware County: A multi-church ministry with the goal of connecting people to God’s love and power. Turning Point Ministries: 624 E. Eighth St., Chester, is collecting food as part of its endeavor to continually build up the city. Congregants are willing to pick up any and all donated nonperishable items that can be stored in the church’s pantry until the time comes to serve.
