The first long weekend of the year is here!
The Family Day long weekend happens Saturday, Feb. 19 to Monday, Feb. 21 this year.
There are, as always, holiday closures and reduced hours, plus COVID-19 restrictions, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still opportunities to get out and enjoy Toronto.
Movie theatres are open throughout the city. Here’s what else is open and closed on the Family Day holiday Monday. Remember to check and follow all COVID-19 regulations when heading out, including wearing a mask and physical distancing.
• Skating rinks
Check the city’s skating webpage for hours and information for outdoor rinks.
• Earl Bales Ski and Snowboard Centre
You can do the beginner or mail hill at Earl Bales Ski and Snowboard Centre, which is open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

• Parks and trails
At the city’s Welcome TO Winter webpage, you can see which parks have winter-maintained pathways and find more ideas for outdoor winter fun in Toronto.
• Rouge National Urban Park
At Rouge National Urban Park, park trails are open for self-guided use. Most parking lots are open, opening between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. A limited number of washroom facilities are open. All in-park visitor services and educational programs remain suspended.
• Ontario Place
The Ontario Place grounds are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Non-member guests must book tickets online in advance.
• High Park Zoo
High Park Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Riverdale Farm
Riverdale Farm is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Toronto Botanical Garden
The Toronto Botanical Garden’s outdoor gardens are open daily, extreme weather conditions could impact access to paths. The Garden Shop and building are closed.
• Conservatories
Allan Gardens and Centennial Park Conservatory are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Aga Khan Museum
The Aga Khan Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Booking tickets in advance is recommended to ensure admission and avoid wait times.
• Art Gallery of Ontario
The AGO is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets must be booked in advance.
• Bata Shoe Museum
The Bata Shoe Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and celebrating the launch of its new online exhibit “Boots & Blades: The Story of Canadian Figure Skating” that day. Tickets can be booked online in advance.
• Casa Loma
Casa Loma is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be booked in advance, with on-site tickets available subject to capacity.
• CN Tower
The CN Tower is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is limited to timed tickets that are subject to availability, book in advance to ensure admission and avoid wait times.
• Hockey Hall of Fame
The Hockey Hall of Fame is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Book tickets in advance to ensure entry.
• Legoland Toronto
Legoland Toronto is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Book tickets online to ensure entry.

• Ripley’s Aquarium
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets must be booked in advance.
• Royal Ontario Museum
The ROM is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Book tickets online to reserve a time to visit.
• Winter Glow
Travel through a sparkling winter wonderland at Winter Glow, on now at Black Creek Pioneer Village and open from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets must be booked in advance.
• Eaton Centre
The Eaton Centre is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Rabba Fine Foods
Rabba stores are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
• Pharmacies, clinics and doctor’s offices

• Government offices and major banks are closed.
• Canada Post offices are closed; privately operated post offices within host businesses may be open depending on the host’s holiday hours.
• Toronto Public Library branches are closed.
Retail
• Many stores and malls are closed, including Fairview Mall, Scarborough Town Centre, Sherway Gardens and Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
• The Beer Store and LCBO locations are closed.
• The TTC is running holiday service.
GO Transit
• GO Transit is running Saturday service.
